When You Think You Know Your Small Business

Like the Back of Your Hand,

It's Time for a HEADS UP!!

Business is about PEOPLE!! Owning a business is about bringing what YOU'VE got to the table, telling people about about it in some compelling way and getting them to buy it. This is where we talk to real people about doing real business. This is where the next generation of businesses that hold our world together will be born.

The Toughest Barrier to Entry: You!

How long have you been sitting around, thinking about starting your own business? Let me tell you a little bit about my own experience!

I must start out by saying that I am a spiritual person - not meaning I am someone who is disconnected or whose thoughts run opposite of what might be called "common sense," but rather someone who has sought out and found a part of the completeness that so many people desire. Take a look at this article by my friend, Walter, at Threshold-Consulting, “Some Thoughts on Spiritual Balance,” for more thoughts on achieving balance.

The hardest part of starting a business is making the commitment. It’s not getting started or coming up with an idea…it is the commitment. Once the business is up and running, it suddenly gets really, really hard! There are too many unknowns out there!

What made the difference for me, what keeps me going, is the fact that I am pursuing my passion and my purpose. My passion is the thing that drives me to stay up late at night, then get up early in the morning, thinking about this thing that I am doing. Some people have it in cooking, others find it in fishing or carving or painting, or just making money. My purpose is the thing that gives my life meaning. This is the answer to “What am I here on Earth for?”

While I can’t answer either one of those for you, I can tell you that getting there is a journey, starting with knowing yourself. What were those things that you liked to think about or liked to do when you were a kid? For me, it was business, and helping the “little guy”…and here I am.

A couple of resources I have for you on the topic are "The Purpose Driven Life," by Rick Warren, “The Path,” by Laurie Beth Jones, and “Discovering Your North Star,” by Dr. Dwight “Ike” Reighart. All three of the books are amazing, and speak to finding the fulfillment and "The Pursuit of Happyness" each of us have.

I am firm believer in taking the leap. You can, too. Last cliché…”Just Do It!”

Start Your Business

Even the smallest business requires a great deal of vision and planning in order to begin to reach its potential. Planning provides a roadmap of not just what you have to do, but how you are going to get there. It gives you the ability to see your businesses from outside, create strategies and goals and work on bringing them to fruition. Most importantly, it gives you the opportunity to review any ideas against the business capabilities, resources, mission, vision and values.

When looking at starting a business, creating a plan and working the plan cannot be stressed enough. There are many steps recommended and required to make sure that your business idea is feasible and legally operated. Aepiphanni can offer you immediate and personalized services, along with the ability to perform many of the tasks that other organizations are only able to advise you on. Areas where we can be of most benefit to you include.

Grow the Business

Growth strategies are critical to business success. The business environment is constantly growing and expanding. Businesses must remain mobile and agile in order to lead or even just keep up with the pack. Growth strategies are the creation and organization of ideas on where you want the company to grow. When we start to think about developing growth strategies, we are looking at the business as a whole, and looking at where the business could or should be. Aepiphanni’s goal is to help you get from where you are to where you want to be..
You have reached the level in your business where your business has either began to plateau or is in a decline. It may even be in a position where it is growing, but you are seeking quicker results. Aepiphanni can provide a number of services, both advisory and project management services to help you achieve your goals, quickly and effectively. Your company can be more profitable. We can help.

Get Your Product or Service to Your Market

Business Development strategies answer the question “How do I get more of my products or services in front of potential buyers and get them to buy?” You’ll have to ask yourself – are you selling the right product to the right people? Is it priced properly? How do your customers/clients know about you? How do they know about changes in your company? Does anyone recognize your brand? Do you have a brand? Bottom line is:You want more sales and more business.
Nothing happens unless something is sold. Nothing is sold unless someone knows about you. Business development is a major part of your company’s growth. Aepiphanni has a number of tools that I can offer you to help you evaluate your current business development processes and create, update or expand those strategies so that you can be poised to achieve greater results.

Build Websites that Sell

Internet marketing is about getting the most return on your internet dollars spent. Everyone says that you, as a business owner, MUST have a website. Every article you read, every email you receive, every product you purchase has a website address attached. You, as an intelligent business person, have to ask yourself how you will be found if you are in cyberspace with quite literally trillions of other websites. How can you guarantee a return on the $6,000 or $3500 or $2100 you just spent on a website? Internet marketing is the key. That is what makes Coke® pop up on the first page when you type “cola” into the search engine bar.

Develop Straregic Partnerships

“None of us is as smart as all of us” is a comment quipped by Collin Powell, referring to the fact that if we all put our heads together and offer what we do best, we can get a lot further than we could ever do individually. Aepiphanni Business Solutions believes and supports this fact in our own business model and can help you incorporate it into yours. This will, no doubt, save you time, money, resources and strengthen your community. However, finding a partner that is appropriate for your company is no easy task. At Aepiphanni Business Solutions, we believe that matching a business partner is no less detailed and important than choosing a mate. There is no one company that can fulfill all of your needs, no one company that can fit the needs of every company.
